Am I safe steam cleaning my 2.8i mk3/do I need to be careful of anything?

Mark the position of and pull off the plug leads from the top of the distributor. Cover the distributor with a plastic bag and put an elastic band or tie wrap around the bottom of it to keep the bag on.
Avoid spraying onto the Duraspark unit at the back of the passengers side inner wing and also avoid spraying the fuse box and the electrical red and white connectors on the opposite side to the Duraspark.
In general don't aim the jet directly at anything with an electrical connector if you can avoid it.
