Ford capri D838ADG

Post by caprikid61 »

Hi Folks , Does anyone know where my old capri laser might be ? I sold it last year and looking to buy it back again . The last I heard it was sold at auction somewhere in Lancashire and it's not been mot'd since I last owned it so I am guessing someone has it stored somewhere while they work on it . Cheers Alex

Add a grand onto the price at least if the owner knows it used to be yours and you want to buy it back.

Shhh.....search for it quietly!

Still looking for my old capri🤔 seems strange that it's never had a fresh mot or put on sorn. The last I heard it was sold at an auction somewhere in Leicestershire.

Doubt I could get it MOT'd now, but I'll happily sell you all the bits back.

Good choice! :) Do you get the Capri Club magazine at all? I'm sure there was one or two for sale in there recently, they have quite a good cars for sale section. If not I could always take a look for you.

Hi,
There's only one Laser for sale in this month's club magazine, but it isn't rosso red though.
With such a narrow search as yours is, I think you'll probably have to be patient. You'll possibly be waiting a while until a suitable decent car comes to the market.
Hopefully not though!

Good luck with the search. :goodluck:

Have a glance (if you have them to hand) at the last month or two as well Andrew.

I've had a quick look through the back issues to June '20 but can't find anything suitable for the OP. A Laser has been for sale for a few months but the colour isn't specified. No other cars spring to mind as I rarely read the classified ads.

Thanks Andrew, I always read through the classifieds myself, the cars and the parts, although the ads do seem to run for some months, I can't imagine that the items are available for that length of time.

Thanks Guys , I don't get the capriclub magazine any more but I have been in touch with them .

They said they would put an article in there next issue regarding me trying to trace my old capri , hopefully someone reads the article and has some information regarding (D838ADG) . Meanwhile I will continue looking for another one coming onto the market , but if any of you guys see the article can you please let me know? Thanks Alex

Sure, no problem. I'll keep a look out for it in April's edition.

I noticed that when I was searching through the classifieds. All the ads form June '20 to March '21 are for mostly the same cars. However, the club state that the listings will only run for 3 issues unless they are notified otherwise, so the cars can't be selling.

A bit off topic, but if anybody with a red Laser is interested, Oxford Diecast make a nice little 1/76 model of this car. The box states the colour as sebring red, but it looks more like rosso red to me. As these are so small, they are very cheap to buy and should retail for around £5 in your local model shop.
