Fuse Box question
Fuse Box question
Happy Bank Holiday!
I am cleaning up my fuse holder and have found that I only have continuity between the fuse holder and tab at fuse 3, 4 & 6. Is this right or do I need to strip it further?
TIA
Owen

Re: Fuse Box question
Just looking at it, it ~LOOKS as if the blade connectors are riveted to the fuse clip? I can`t work out from Haynes - it seems the reverse light is fed by 4 fuses at once! I`ll check later, but my guess is that they should connect, maybe just badly oxidised at rivet?
Re: Fuse Box question
I`ve tested mine and they all seem to have continuity. You may need to drill out rivets, clean up, and either use a new rivet or a very small nut/bolt, 2mm D or so. Or clean up rivet heads and solder them maybe?
Re: Fuse Box question
Thanks for checking Steve, while tracing one issue I seem to keep coming across others, I’m sure I’ll get there in the end!

Re: Fuse Box question
Quick update,
I wasn't keen on drilling out the rivets so i thought i'd put a blob of solder between the tabs and the fuse holder. The solder didn't want to take so for now I have added a wire from the fuse holder (through the hole below where the fuse sits) and connected the accessory to the wire. It is only fuse 1 that didn't have continuity that had an accessory coming off the tab. This will do for now but will look at doing something more permanent later.
Thanks for the suggestions, Owen.

Re: Fuse Box question
I tried the same thing with soldering the rivets with the same result. It might be feasible with a stronger soldering iron but a 15 watt / 25 watt general purpose soldering iron just wont do it due to the amount of metal that needs heating up.
After a couple of attempts I got a good second hand one from Caprigear, fully reliable now.
