Interior 2.8
Interior 2.8
Hi all
I am looking at a 1981 2.8i
Was the engine bay painted Matt?
Should the seats be Recaro? They look sporty but no wording. They also have a check pattern . Car is black
Cheers

Re: Interior 2.8
As far as I know engine bay was same finish as bodywork.
Yes the early 4 speed 2.8 (81/82) had the check recaro interior and door card material, grey and white in the black car.
Put up a link to the car and you will get advice

Re: Interior 2.8
I saw a chart of Capri colours and the seat colour options recently but can't remember where
Pics you posted;
Seats are correct but different colour to what I thought, but that doesn't mean they are wrong
Engine bay looks like a form of Waxoyl has been applied.
Here are the pics of my old black 1982 Y reg.

Seats are curious - where are the badges, and the lower side supports on the bottom cushions look a different shape in that they taper down at the front more.
Re: Interior 2.8
No badges on these seats and the side supports are just worn or angle of the pic https://www.flickr.com/photos/61090099@N04/40872587810

Re: Interior 2.8
well that's learned me.
Re: Interior 2.8
Interior is correct for that year, blue check is the rarer of the interiors, most had grey check. You won't find any RECARO badges on them as they never had them, you won't find anything stating RECARO on those seats.
If you compare the shape of these to the later seats in the 2.8i you will notice they are quite different, the bolsters are different.
Engine bay should be body colour and the rocker covers on the four speed cars should be Satin Black

Re: Interior 2.8
Thats a nice blue Carla interior on that.
Never know why they deleted the choice of Carla trim in 1983 leaving buyers with just shark grey.
By the way who is Matt ?
