Try setting up a forum then charging subs...

Pay the internet fees, then use the rest to buy a capri! Tried and tested method.

I forgot about that. Yes i believe Mark's car does benifit to some extent from our subsciptions.

A passenger in a capri is better than watching a capri go by and thinking ' there is a spare seat there, I could be sat in that' but then again....seeing a capri go past is good tooImage

mark said, if any money was left over, then the car would be helped.

why do people keep bitching about it? if you dont like it, cancel the subscription. i cant believe people sign up for the payment voluntarily, then moan about it. there are other forums which are free.Image

I'm not bitching at all, if he lied about doing it I would definatly bitch. But he was honest and upfront with all his doings so I dont have a problem.

when I started this thread, I honestly didnt think of mark's subscription service so I didnt expect this old topic to come up againImage

Is there really anywhere else?

Post by andrewg1323 »

What other capri only forums are there? CapriPower, Tonys V8 Forum and i guess you could possibly count OSF and Turbosports capri section
None of em have the general relaxed atmosphere of this place! Thats why we paid our fivers---------------

i dont think it is fair to maon about how 'primative' the forum is or the fact that mark uses the extra money for his car, then say you enjoy the forum and that its the best about.Image

I think the biggest problem with the subscription charge is the fact that it is most likely the final nail in the coffin for this forum. i think it's going to be extremely rare to see new people joining, and existing members may well get bored and leave, creating a snowball effect until it dies completely.

Unfortunatley though, the forum does need to be paid for, and ifsponsorship isn't enough to cover costs, and if Mark doesn't want to (and shouldn't have to) fork out for it, maybe membership is the only way. I can't see people voluntarily paying (to be completely honest i most likely wouldn't). I do still maintain though that running a forum doesn't have to expensive, I have used (and run) forums that were free to run.ImageJC|2 LITRE LASER AUTOMATIC|STRATOS SILVER

the laser page is best

Post by turbo-mike »

I go on oldskoolford but find it very escort based, capripower is full of idiots and stupid tarts, and you can be a gold member for 12, so that makes the laser pages fiver a dam good bargine. And I am now all for it coz it weeds out the wasters.

White riot!

Post by Sonic »

Personally I feel if we paid five quid for the privelage of posting in a forum, then I can b*tch, rant and moan about what ever hell I want.

Be it the rusting capablities of capris, the government, this forum, andy putting a silly 2.9 efi instead of the much better 2.8 efi that i have, the Hate hate relationship of a screwdriver and a dashboard, the telepathetic search engine, my door strip and stupid speedo or just the c*nt who hit and run andrew's nice capri leaving a him with a bundle of repairs, or the ability to have a mindless rant!!

We paid for the freedom of speech! Be free and say what you want!

Ok I'll moan about the bl**dy awful live version of White Riot (or Why Rye as it sounds) that pops up on Kerrang every once in a while - only saving grace is that it is only about 90 seconds long.
Not cutting stuff as rants go but never mind :)

Yeah it is a public forum, and an un-moderated one at that so the way I see it people are free to express their opinions unless told otherwise. I'm kinda getting to like CP a bit more, OSF is very escort based and seems a little chavy.ImageJC|2 LITRE LASER AUTOMATIC|STRATOS SILVER
