2.8 Clutch Cable Clip

Post by Andrew 2.8i »

Hello,
On the 2.8 I assume the clutch cable routes around to the LHS of the steering coupling as you look from the front of the car?
Should there be a clip that holds the clutch cable to the inner wing, out of harm's way of the exhaust manifold?
If somebody knows the answer to this or can check for me, that would be great!
Thanks,

Andrew.

Currently full up and no more space but I still want a 2.8...

I know that we've spoken about this before somewhere but I know Nick has a bit of copper tied into his inner wing to hold his clutch cable back - I think peter has a cable tie or something similar on his as well because we all seem to have a problem with the cable melting on the manifold

Not sure if there was a specific clip for holding the cable in place for any of the models or if we all just find a different way to bodge it

Thanks Danny.
I did a quick search, but could not find a definitive answer about a factory original clip.

Sorry for the slow reply, just got back from a car show
I've just had a closer look tonight, I have two white plastic clips.
The top one clips the clutch cable to the brake pipe
and the bottom one clips it straight to the car body.
They both are push fit.
