Rear leaf springs for laser

Post by Brooksy »

Has anyone with a laser, replaced their rear leaf springs? If so, can you recommend supplier/make etc? Single leafs for the 2.8i seem to be more abundant but I have a standard laser set up on the front. Cheers.

1993 Fiesta 1.1

Currently full up and no more space but I still want a 2.8...

I got mine from CCI - replaced them with Multis as the first lot broke/separated, second lot did the exact same thing (after a few years of service granted) so I got singles and never looked back

Makes the ride harsher but much better handling

The single leaf springs for the 2.8i will fit and will do the job perfectly. They are in use on probably the majority of 4 cylinder cars now . Theres no need to change anything else either- though having said that if any of the bushes look worn its an ideal opportunity to replace them with Superflex bushes.

If you have any doubt at all about your rear springs its best to change them.

Kilen still make them I think. I got their front coil springs and the ride height was spot on as standard, so personally, I would definitely use them for the rears also. And I would stick with multi's.

I've got a pair of multileafs that I took off the 3 litre that I recently broke. Bushes are all good and there's plenty of life left in the springs.

Get a price from Martin on the ones he has. My experience with martin is that if he says they are good then they will be good as new.

On the front? Are you sure your Capri isn't a Series land rover? ;)

I think I got mine from Burton power but just checked the price and they're not cheap and out of stock!
