Heater box control cables

Any advice for refitting these? The top one went in a worked perfect but the bottom one is bringing me to tears. I keep setting it to its most extream setting on the box and control, conect it up... it moves but wont return the flap. the cable works well on its own and i'm getting the feeling i've got it out of sync when the box was apart. The last thing i want to do is pull this back out.

I know it sounds daft but you`ve not got it to the wrong end of it`s extreme travel have you (trying to open when it`s fully open already)? Other than that, is the outer cable clamped securely?

Similar issues when I rebuilt mine last month. I ended up moving the box end actuator round a couple of teeth and it worked perfectly. No idea whether it was iffy to begin with or something I'd done.
