Is it April 1st already? :)
74db is ridiculously quiet. Apparently my lawnmower is 90db!
Andrew.

The decibel is a strange unit of measurement. Never thought it increases sequentially right somehow -

When Wheeler Dealers did the Cobra replica, the IVA test was maximum 100 db and it just crept in under that.

It`s logarithmic Paul, not linear, IIRC someting like a 3dB increase is a doubling of Sound Pressure Level . (But to complicate it further a doubling of SPL doesn`t mean twice as loud, as your ears do `turn it down` as it gets louder :? . That`s why you can literally hear a pin drop but your ears aren`t destroyed by thunder which is 10to the n times more powerful. )
I`d have thought rock band much higher, then again, there`s Coldplay.

dB are like the Richter scale - each increase is logarithmic and not a 'standard' increase

That list is US, so maybe we have to convert the db levels to UK :headscratch: :D

Vaguely related, well it involves numbers, but this has fascinated and bewildered me for years. There is a number known as a googolplex. This is a number so large (honest to God I`m not making this up) it has so many noughts after that if you tried to write it down on paper the volume of paper would be so large it would not fit into the known universe. I swear to God this is true, I think it`s absolutely hilarious:

I knew my 16 times table when I was 11, and I thought that was difficult enough :headscratch:

16x - Bloody hell your teachers were harsh, we drew the line at 12! That`s getting really hard isn`t it? I`d have to be breaking down into 10s & units to do that.

I was top of the class for this at primary school :D Pretty sure they just wanted to see how far I could get in a certain time limit.

Then it all went wrong at the comprehensive

I`m not surprised, that`s pretty impressive! I was quite good at counting backwards in 7s; 80, 73 etc - which could be useful now as they use this in testing for dementia, so who knows :D :D :D or :( :( :( :(

I always knew, and still do , what 19 x 7 is, no idea why.
Anyway, someone posted a like to 'Daisy' with the twin exhaust on a pinto, which has got me thinking of that as a plan.

It is a nice system, but I wouldn't say it was quiet - granted not as loud as the 3" exit you have currently but still not as quiet as a standard 2" kit or original exhaust

Funny as I watched a you tube of Daisy’s Capri going past with the twins and it got me thinking but after following Nick with the same set up as me it does sound good

Does anyone know if it was the CCI system with 'Beast' back boxes or standard ones?

Large pants and bottom ..... :banghead:
I was going to have a look at that exhaust as it’s new and ask what it was like and how loud , but ended up chatting in the CCI office the other week and headed back to mine as my back was playing up .
I think with the name Beast it’s mean and loud as I am sure the rear silence box is missing .

The 'beast' pipes have no rear silencer, just the middle box under the seat(s)

Hmm. The CCI site says they can be provided with standard rear boxes instead of the Beast ones. Maybe I should think about getting the car running, maybe fix the holes and stuff before buying shiny bits

Though there are a nice set of Starmags on here, and only down the road from me, which would look nice...
