How to attach front wing trim to new wings

Post by BillDonald »

About to replace both front wings on my 1983 2.8i.What recommendations to you have for re-attaching the trim?
I guess I'll find out how they are attached when I take the wings off but I was told they are bolted on??? Before fitting??
Suggestion has been to glue back on...what type of glue?
Any help appreciated.

There are two small bolts that usually rust solid because they cop all the spray off the road. If you are removing the wings leave the strips on initially as access to the bolts will be easier with the wings off and using a wire brush and WD40 or similar you might be able to persuade the nuts to come loose.

Currently full up and no more space but I still want a 2.8...

The nuts are ridiculously delicate - I managed to snap the bolt in half when the wing was off once - definitely don't rush!

Thanks for the help.
I now realise I've been a bit thick, not unusual some might say! I've got inner wing guards that I realise are screwed in place and will come off to reveal the bolts! Hopefully they have been protected by much of the muck.
Thanks again, I will be patient.
