Fuse blowing

Post by Bobpool »

Fuse number 1,16 amp , has blown a couple of times. I know it's for the horn and radio memory amongst other things.

How do I find what's causing it to blow ?

Thank you.

I'd check to wiring to everything on fuse one and make sure it's not shorting anywhere

This link is really useful for wiring

It may well be as I have put all the interior back in and something might be wrong. Thank you.

Fuse 1
Interior lights
Hazard switch
Cig lighter
clock
windscreen washers
Headlamp washers (if fitted)
My best bet would be the cig lighter.

Totally agree with this, my car has this problem, connect the wiring up to the cigar lighter and it's fine but use it and the fuse blows the moment the cigar lighter is pushed in - not sure whether it's the cigar lighter or the unit it pushes into though ..

Put a nail instead of the fuse and lok for the smoke. Quickest way to find which circuit has the short :xd:

Hazard warning switch.I must of broke it when I initially stripped the interior out.

Disconnected it put a new fuse in and it was fine.

Found one on eBay and awaiting delivery.

Thank you for your help 8-)
