Dark or light blue Ford badges?
Does anyone know what shade of blue the Ford badge should be on a 1987 Capri laser?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Dark or light blue Ford badges?
The top one looks about right to me.
I'm not sure of the year the badge background colour changed to dark blue, but I think it was in the 90s.
Andrew.

The reason I asked is because mine has a light blue on the back but a darker blue on the front.Jasonmarie wrote:Mine looks the darker one now ?

Re: Dark or light blue Ford badges?
Mine are both dark blue on the front and back and tbh I much prefer these to the lighter.... just my opinion. Not really bothered its not the correct one as I really like the way it ties in with the look I want on B112...

Re: Dark or light blue Ford badges?
OK.... Ford logos.
The blue ovals we have on our cars change through time, with Ford re-inventing the badge. It is not a vehicle generation time stamp. It is a logo time stamp.
That means that the shade and the size (although the latter is often kept for generation change) will adapt through the model generation. A dark blue to start with, then a lighter shade at the end of the cycle.
These are stick on badges and no manufacturer is going to offer 50 shades of grey....erm......blue because each model is in a different area of its cycle before it can change at the end of the cycle. Once one changes, the lot change.
So this responds to why some of us have lighter blue and some have dark blue. In the 2000's, the badges went very deep blue.
The best way to establish your colour is to research the shade in your year of registration for all of the Ford models.
