Rear wheel arches

Hi guys Going to be doing them during the holidays, need some advice on how , do I overlap or butt the joints ,some pictures or something to give me a idea on the best way ,thanks guys ,merry Christmas.

You’ll find loads of info over there it’s a good forum (not as good as this one though obviously).

I prefer to butt weld, you could joggle the edges but I’m always wary of it being a water trap. If you can, clamp or somehow fix the new arch in place and cut through it and the old panel together, that way you know the new section will fit. Don’t try and run any beads when your welding it up as the panel will distort, and also be careful of heat build up when your grinding the welds back.

They’re my top tips but I’m sure others will have their own!

How did you progress with this? Butt welding is preferable, as mentioned, series of spots first to prevent distortion due to too much heat.

Trying to work out what car this is - is it a MK1 Granada Ghia Coupe?

Managed it no problem got a new welder ,so was dying to try it out was perfect on body work, thanks guys
