Hey guys,
Just a quick one, replacing some bulbs in the rear lights and was wondering if there should be some sort of (rubber?) washer between the screw and the lense?
I know there are meant to be washers between the lense and the backing plate but I'm not sure if there should be one between the screw and lense.
Rubber washer between tail light lense and screw?

Yes there should and they break up and or are easy to lose. They are small flat felt type washers.
You may get away with using a small rubber o-ring or ring Martin at Capri Gear or one of the parts suppliers to see if they have any.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply. So in effect there should be 3 washers then, two between backing plate and lense (The lights had two washers there when removed), and one between screw and lense?

Nope, only four washers in total Jim
Four (bare) screws go into and through the light lens, four small grey rubber washers (very brittle) attach to the screws, then screw the light lens to the cluster. In practice the washers do very little in the way of sealing the join, but they are meant to be there none the less

You can get assorted sized fibre washers for plumbing applications from any decent diy or plumbers merchants.
They're the orange/red sort of coloured washers used in compression joints around your home.
You can even get leather ones .....and of course rubber.
