The way I read the rules, only cars registered before 1975 can display those plates. That's not on a rolling basis, it's a fixed date. Therefore, your car will never be eligible to display them.Jasonmarie wrote:I am waiting for 8 years before I can put my number plates back on

The guy made me these for the mrs rs turbo around 6 weeks ago now
I held them on her car with 2 thin bobbles to take a picture
The owner of this lovely 2.8i must really have a thing about flags as they bleedin have three flying from it.Andrew 2.8i wrote:I that car in the background!Jasonmarie wrote:I my plates
MOT tester confirmed this is correct https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=153 ... v-2fmDcSAM:Andrew 2.8i wrote:That's how I would measure the gap too. So, your plate should be perfectly legal.andyd wrote:Mine is 27mm between the bottom of the A< and the beginning of the >8, so I assume that's ok.....
Andrew.
That's bizarre as that appears to contradict the DVLA leaflet. Still, if Dr B is sending you another set of plates you can't argue with that service, andyd wrote:MOT tester confirmed this is correct https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=153 ... v-2fmDcSAM:
The seller is sending me through the plates that were on the car last year, so hopefully all sorted.....
I had a couple of pics of the car with the other plates, and he said he still had them and would post them to meAndrew 2.8i wrote:That's bizarre as that appears to contradict the DVLA leaflet. I must admit though that the gap between the A and 8 on your current plate does look huge.

Not really, are the plates on the car at the moment the original dealer plates?andyd wrote: but does it really matter....
No not the original plates, but the current incorrect plates have the Sharmans dealer stamp on them....Andrew 2.8i wrote:Not really, are the plates on the car at the moment the original dealer plates?andyd wrote: but does it really matter....

Very impressed with DMB Graphics Ltd. I'll be putting it on in due course but in the meantime, here's the sticker, albeit in it's "as delivered" form.Andrew 2.8i wrote:That's great news Nige!Brooksy wrote:Update: Dave At DMB Graphics Ltd has kindly offered to make one and for a very decent price too. The whole ordering process was carried out so quickly and efficiently. Amazing.
Hopefully you'll post a photo of it on here when you receive it.
As said, the DMB stuff is great quality, I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.

It's a brilliant finishing touch to have on the car if you aren't lucky enough to have the original item.
