The way I read the rules, only cars registered before 1975 can display those plates. That's not on a rolling basis, it's a fixed date. Therefore, your car will never be eligible to display them. :sorry:

That's how I would measure the gap too. So, your plate should be perfectly legal.

Andrew.
MOT tester confirmed this is correct https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=153 ... v-2fmDcSAM:

The seller is sending me through the plates that were on the car last year, so hopefully all sorted.....

Funny how in the U.K. they are so funny about number plates . But I think the Capri would look with out a front plate .

That's bizarre as that appears to contradict the DVLA leaflet. Still, if Dr B is sending you another set of plates you can't argue with that service,
I must admit though that the gap between the A and 8 on your current plate does look huge.

I had a couple of pics of the car with the other plates, and he said he still had them and would post them to me :)

Not dealer stamped as the current ones are, but does it really matter.... :headscratch:

Not really, are the plates on the car at the moment the original dealer plates?

No not the original plates, but the current incorrect plates have the Sharmans dealer stamp on them....
Just a nice touch imo but not worth the extra cost atm...

That's great news Nige!
Hopefully you'll post a photo of it on here when you receive it. :D
As said, the DMB stuff is great quality, I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.

Andrew.
Very impressed with DMB Graphics Ltd. I'll be putting it on in due course but in the meantime, here's the sticker, albeit in it's "as delivered" form.

It's a brilliant finishing touch to have on the car if you aren't lucky enough to have the original item.
