Hi I was putting the starter motor back in but never disconnected the battery. Now am hoping I’ve blown as nothing works now. I’ve checked the fuses in the car and they were fine. There’s also 3 fuses 60amp ones in a separate fuse box connected to the battery. Any ideas what other cars these fuses might be in as was going the check in the scrap yard tomorrow. Thanks

can you upload a photo of the fuse type ?

If its a Ford and doesn't have the cartridge type of fuses our Capris have then my guess is these will be blade fuses. They have 2 legs that look like like lucar spade connectors but with a flat lump of plastic between them at the top. Easy and cheap to buy off Ebay or almost anywhere if so.

Check the manual to see if there are any fuseable links as oppossed to fuses. My wife had a VW Polo with one of these bloody things that took ages to find - it looked like a fuse in the circuit diagram but looked nothing like a fuse in real life - but this was what had blown.

Also, first off check your battery is still ok. Not wanting to be pessimistic but if the main, heavy duty cable lead between the battery positive terminal and the starter has touched earth it will have discharged your battery very suddenly and could have killed a cell. Check it first.
