Hi folks.
I've no idea what this part is. Its broken and I haven't noticed anything not working. It's located in the engine bay off the bracket that holds the 2.8 fuel filter........ Looks like some sort of spring inside...... Could this be the inertial switch to cut off the fuel pump in the event of a crash?
Many thanks. Dan
What is this part?
Re: What is this part?
It looks like some kind of aftermarket resistor certainly nothing that Ford ever fitted.

It looks like an aftermarket ballast resistor to me. Has the original one been by - passed?

Thanks both. It certainly looks non ford. But it comes out of a breakout from the loom heading forward to the front so it looks like something originally was meant to be connected.
I'm not sure there would be a ballast resister for the lights. And there is a square ballast resister in line with the coil connector.
Cheers

Are you sure that's not a suppressor to eliminate interference on the radio? Like this:
Andrew.
