Wiper stalk tab removal

Post by Jim »

Hey guys, trying to get the tab off the wiper stalk as the spring popped out a while ago and I want to put it back as it has been sitting on my shelf for ages.

I've been able to pull to the 'arms' of the tab up but it still won't budge...is there a knack for removing it. I don't want to force it as knowing my luck the plastic will snap.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I did try fixing one many moons ago and Iam sure there is a double clip inside . I know you have not got the time but I may have the bit in myspares box . But I would remove the stalk first then try turning the top of the stalk with your fingers , I say remove as that would put pressure on the bottom and could cause some damage there at that point .

Wait for peter or Martin as they will know as peter changed his on the last MOT for Laser I think .

Thanks Paul.

I got it off last time by accidentally whacking it but don't want to risk that this time around haha.
