Timing out

Post by Rosco59 »

Hi just changed the timing belt everything lined up before the belt got changed. But when I turned the engine over by hand I never tighten the belt tensioner down so think belt has slipped. Now the dizzy and moon and mountain line up but the crank pulley is out what will I do now. Thanks

loosen the tensioner and pull the belt off the cam and jackshaft pulleys. Get the crank set to tdc then line up the dizzy and "moon and mountain" and re - fit the belt. Tension it before turning the crank pulley. keep doing this till it's right.
