2.8 fuel pump

2.8 fuel pump

hello all having trouble starting my 2.8!!should my fuel pump make a noise when I turn the key?does on my rsi but cannot here anything on this pump?

Hi,
The pump should buzz for a second or so to prime the pump when the ignition is switched on.
If it is not working, I would test the feed to make sure that it is live (bear in mind that it won't be live constantly when the engine is not running). If there is no live at the pump, the relay and the 20A fuse for the pump are both located under the dash.

Hi,

Cheers Andrew!just!got a spare battery and some cable and checked the pump!primed up ok a bit noisey but running!!car still not running tho!will check the relay and fuse!
