Another colour question

Here's another thought for today for those Concours aficionado's like me. Mk3 rear anti roll bars, the eyelets where the main bush sits, that then attach to the chassis. Were these originally black in colour, or cadmium plated? cannot remember for the life of me what they were new. Sorry for all the daft questions, but trying to get my Mk3 as close to new as possible.
