Boot lip

Post by Wintersock »

Hi. Can someone please help me. I have a boot lip on back of car. However it's cracking probably due to being like a soft rubber of some sort?

Anyway it's nearly time to start stripping the car for a respray and I am stumped on what to do with it.

Can these be refurbished? If so, does anyone know how ?

Or would it be easier to just get a new one? Does anyone know a place that does hard ones?

Thanks

Hi,
You might be able to make your spoiler look a bit better by bringing back the original colour. Several applications of Autoglym Bumper Gel, or similar, should help to restore it. If it's badly cracked and definitely beyond restoring, Capri Club International or Martin at Capri Gear should be able to supply a decent used replacement.

To my knowledge, nobody can supply a replica of the original shaped spoiler in plastic. If you really want a hard spoiler, there is a choice available in a selection of non-original styles:

Another option is a "turbo tail" spoiler, although these are hard to come by and are quite expensive.

Andrew.
