Had you taken off your kick panels to spray them with HFVP by any chance?
Thanks for posting that video of your sound system.
I have the same head unit as you, but your system sounds better than mine. Time for me to replace my speakers methinks!

Is this the way that most Capri owners with later stereos tend to work around it ?
I still have the original speakers (surprised at how good they actually are to be honest), and a modern CD/stereo (JVC, which I have found to be excellent, they do a range with remote control, very useful if stereo is in glove box), and the fader still works as normal.
