Hi,
It wouldn't bother me if a new owner called to ask questions about a car that I used to own.
Not unless I was watching something good on TV at the time..... :)

Andrew.

For music, try starting in the 1950s. Original Rock n Roll is hard to beat.

Yes, a lot of creative people around in the 50's for music, who cared a lot. Same for the 60's, 70's were great, still ok into the 80's. Stated going downhill after that to the dire state it is in now.

 Always worth asking.

The worst that can happen is if people don't want to help they won't reply.

That’s true but I have just heard from the first owner now who had the car from 1987 -2002 and only had 24000 miles when he past it on to his son also the car has been garage all it’s life . He is sorting some pictures out for me .
As me and I hope I am talking the same about all of us on here the cars in our lifes are almost like family and how many times do we here I regret selling her . It’s in our blood , yes I was worried about sending the letters out but so far it’s been very supported . I might just be lucky but to here why the car has new headlight on the front from the 4th owner was because they were milky is like heaven to the ears as I was wondering if they got broke .
Know I would say go for it as the only real thing to happen is they say get stuffed and that had not happened to me and I have some great pictures to go with my great history .

And the answer is No I will never sell she’s staying in my family and if the kids need the money then it will be there’s to sell .
If not I might build a pyramid with me in the car in the dame middle . “ I bet this would take off old John hill always up for making some cash and he has the room “ who going on dragon den with me ?

:agree:
Any car I own gets treated well and I would have loved to have kept many I have sold the last 5 years or so, but the usual storage and ££ are the main issues we all have......Eventually, my current Sierra ticks all the right boxes and hopefully won't be going anywhere soon :D

As no information regarding DJX330Y has been received l am thinking of posting a wanted add on the sales and Wanted board. I would be looking for a rust free (tall order, I know). A 2.0 possibly a 1.6. (Quite like the early 1.6 LS or even 1.6 Cameo).

You have nothing to lose!
Keep an eye on Ebay, Car and Classic, Gumtree, Pistonheads and Autotrader too.

:goodluck:

How would you all feel if you got a letter I have given my full name and address with my e mail and said the car is fine .
Initially, I would probably think there was a dodgy scam going on to be honest! But there is no harm in what you're doing, you may get some positive replies.
I have rang or written to previous owners of some cars if their contact details were on a receipt etc.
All of them were happy to answer any questions and glad to hear the car was still ok :)

I have the addresses of all the previous keepers of my XR, as there are copies of the V5 in with the paperwork, but have not contacted them.
I wrote to the long term owner of my Sierra earlier this month, and he called me within 2 days! Had a good chat about the car and he gave me the number of the chap that recommissioned it so I called him too :D
Both were helpful and glad it was on the road, and one hoped to see it at some point....That to be arranged.

That’s great as you get the life of the car and what things everybody has done to the car and they all wanted to see pictures of there old car . The first owner said to me I always looked out for my Capri as we only used it some weekends and it was garaged .
Also they might have some old pictures .

I emailed the chap some pics and he was happy :D He bought the car in 1989 and he's now 72 years old :)
