I would suggest checking the recommended jet sizes for the 1.6 against that of the 2.0 and changing where these differ- make sure you check for 1.6 Pinto NOT 1.6 Kent/ohv or CVH engines as they will be different. The information on jet sizes is easy to find and the jets are easy to get hold of from Ebay and other places. Youtube will show how to get to the jets to change them. its all very easy peasy.

You can get excellent results just by doing a good top end overhaul and fitting a 2 litre cam. This is the engine I built for Dan the Capri fan on here and that will skin a std 1.6 easily we tried it. And that runs a 32/36 from a 2ltr with no jets changed.
