Vin plate

Just a question as I have never Seen this did ford put vin numbers on the drivers wing ?
There's a Capri on eBay with it

The picture is taken from the eBay listing hope that is ok if not I will remove .
It's above the wash bottle?

Hi,
Yes, this was the original location before Ford started stamping them in the floor by the driver's seat. I'm not sure of the changeover year, but it was around 79/80, I think.

Cheers for that Andrew as the books I have read on the Ford Capri I never saw that our for some reason that did not enter in to my mind .
I had old Mk2 capri and thought it was on the floor also now thinking on mk5 cortina I had it was there but in the same colour.

I will put this down to age .... and the heat ....

Those numbers don't look very straight! Are they all like that?

Looks like it the car is on eBay I don't know it does not look right to me ... perhaps the car was white at one time .

They used to put tape over the primer before the top coat went on. At least that is right even if the numbers aren't.
