Re: ford Capri 2.8i struts
Hi,
Both struts should be the same size. The 2.8 should have Bilstein struts fitted, and genuine Bilstein struts differ from the struts fitted to other models. It's easy to tell the difference as Bilsteins have a nut on a protruding thread at the bottom of the casing, just above where the balljoint attaches.
Andrew.

Hi,
I've been searching the internet to find some decent photos to explain what I meant. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any, so these will have to do....
You can just see the threads I'm talking about at the bottom of the casing where the inserts protrude through.
Hopefully that will help you determine if you have the correct struts or not.
Andrew.

Re: ford Capri 2.8i struts
Is it just the spring length?
Minus 1" and minus 2" road springs are available, you may have an unmatched set.
Cheap enough to buy new springs.
DO NOT REMOVE THE TOP NUTS TO SWAP SPRINGS UNLESS YOU FIT A SPRING-COMPRESSOR.

There is a chance one of them could be off a completely different car. Mk2 Escort, Mk 4 Cortina etc etc. Did you pay much for them.
