Whoop Sound When Pressing Brake
Occasionally, and randomly, I have started to get a whoop/squeak sound from under the bonnet when pressing the brake. Only lasts a second. I am assuming it is to do with the vacuum system on the servo/master cylinder?
Just wondering what the most obvious things are to look at before I delve in. Thanks!

Re: Whoop Sound When Pressing Brake
It's probably in the servo Paul, either the plastic valve that plugs into the rubber grommet from the vacuum pipe or the atmospheric air valve on the rear of the servo where the brake pushrod goes in. Get someone else to press the pedal whilst you have a good listen to see if you can hear which it is.
I've got an old servo and I think both are on it so I could rob the bits and send to you if you can't get them locally.

Thanks very much Paul, I appreciate that. I will have a closer listen as you suggest and see if I can pinpoint it, cheers!

Re: Whoop Sound When Pressing Brake
Just thought I would update this as I found the culprit to be a stuck caliper piston.

Great that you found what the problem was Paul and you did not have to 'brake' the bank to get it fixed. Sorry I will 'stop' being silly as you must be getting really 'piston' off witrh my gagspbar wrote:Thank you guys
