Hi folks,
First post and a request to boot! My parents have their 40th wedding anniversary next year 2018 and I'm hoping I can locate an owner of a Ford Capri Mk2 in silver. The reason is my dad owned one, not sure of the year but around 1970-75 but it was a Mk2. It had chrome strips/inlay and chrome wheels with the big hub caps. The engine was a 1.6.
He had to sell the car to pay for the house and start his family.
So, as a present for my parents I was hoping to ask someone who owns one as close to the description as poss, and chauffeur my parents to a party I have organised. So it would only be a short distance single trip.
I'd be willing to pay for time and fuel.
We are based in the northwest and I'm hoping to source one!
Here is the only surging picture I have of the original.
Again many thanks to anyone that can help!

Re: Help my parents! Ford Mk2 capri
The picture you have added is a Mk1 Capri 1969 to 1974, the Mk2 was '74 to '78...Maybe ask him what the reg number was to confirm exact model?
Hope someone can help you
Andy

Hi,
Welcome to the forum!
In order to reach as many Capri owners as possible, may I suggest that you contact Capri Club International with your request?
http://www.capriclub.co.uk/
They may be able to pass your contact details on to the owners of a relevant car.
It may also be worth doing the same with a Capri Club in the northwest, such as Cheshire Capri Club.

Good luck!
Andrew.

Hi andy, many thanks for your reply. I'm willingly to go off your knowledge as my dad could be wrong with which mk version he had. I've had a quick look at mk1 's and yes I agree the silver inlay seems the match especially the wig mirrors. Did mk1's ever have circular head lights?andyd wrote:

3.0 GT and GXL did, as for the 1.6 don't think so, but will stand corrected if anyone knows better (Which they will)

Hi,
The photo looks like a mk1 to me too, and bear in mind that the Mk2 didn't have round headlights.
Andrew.

Mk1 should actually be easier to find than a mk2. They made them for longer, and they were more popular, both at the time and now.Paradidle wrote:Hi andy, many thanks for your reply.
