2.8 fuel pump, think it's dead

Trying to get my 2.8i going again after a year sitting around doing nothing.
20 litres of fresh petrol, new battery.
Cranking away, no firing.
Opened fuel line at filter, no fuel pressure at all.
Checked for voltage at the terminals on the pump, zero when cranking. Dammit.
Pulled relays and fuse out from under dash. All clicking away properly and fuse ok.
Re checked at pump. Found one of the ring terminals was actually off, so re crimped it, now 10-11 volts at pump but still no fuel coming through.
Took battery off and connected it direct to the pump. All the pump does it make a dull clunking noise and pull 8amps of current. No whirring or anything useful sounding.
So this needs a new pump doesn't it? There's not anything else I should be doing to make it work is there?
Bit of a bummer this as the pump is fairly new and probably only run 2-3 hours since I put it on a couple of years ago.
Not missing anything else am I?
