17 inch wheels on a capri

Post by capriandyb »

Iv ask this question on a couple of sites so I thought I'd ask here too
Anyone running 17s on they're ride?? I'm in the middle of mk3 capri 385 sbc with nos build and at min got 16s with 245 tyres on the rear and 225s on the front but not sure if the 245 will cope with the power..I can go bigger with the 17s all round
But don't want to put 17s on if it drives like a pig. It's a street and strip with occasional autocross events

And help would be great guys

It would really depend on what suspension and steering mods are on the car I think. In terms of unmodified Capris many seem to prefer the drive on 13" rims with 60 or 70 profile rubber rather than 15" wheels and lower profiles.
