Hi Folks , I seem to remember when I bought my capri 2 litre laser I was told that someone had fitted a fr 34 camshaft . I would like to know if there is any way of checking without tacking the cam off.
I take it the gap would also be different for setting the tappets ?? Does anyone one know what they should be ??

Re: Fr 34 cam
FR34 I doubt, but possibly FR32. Take cam cover off and look at cam end. Should be stamped.

Re: Fr 34 cam
FR32 is a good camshaft. I had one in the Pinto i built when into kit cars a couple of years ago. It has a nice smooth power delivery which i found was nicely complimented by distributor less ignition. It just makes the Pinto that little bit better without taking away anything from the character or usability of the engine around town. If the carb is jetted right it shouldn't hurt your fuel consumption either.
