help on price please
Ok I know I should know this but at the mo capri prices are all over the place so asking for opinions.
If things work out I may be getting a new capri so I will need to move on "Alfie" to make room for the new car, now as you know it is the black capri 2.8 used by Alfie moon in eastenders and I have kept it the same as it was in the show, all genuine ford items being purple strips, Turbo tail rear, spoiler RS front spoiler, Ford fog lamps and of cause the diamond cut 7x13 RS 4 spoke alloys, and he is is in excerlent condition and with a genuine 84 thousand miles and the proof to show that this is the car used in the show not some tarted up reshelled ladyboy capri.
Now to me a run of the mill 2.8 with low miles and all original panels like this has to be worth 7-8k' now the TV history has to push it up a bit (how many capris have been on TV) I doubt to the 55k that the ladyboy professional's 3.0S made, but I think I have a realistic price in mind of 10k and anything above would be a bonus, Now am I on the money or way off.

This was Alfie at last weeks Basingstoke car show Thanks to Chris Knowles for the pictures

Re: help on price please
Hi Mike,
The car looks fantastic, I would have thought at least 10K would be a realistic target.
Do you mind me asking what Capri you are buying next? It must be really something if it's better than Alfie!
Andrew.

No way despite it being massively over priced it is a "S" and sorry they don't do anything for me, has to be the superior injection model for me.

Re: help on price please
Like you say, prices are all over the place at the minute, but given the originality and amazing condition by the looks of the pictures I would have thought over £10k for something like this - more if you find a buyer interested in the TV history.

Re: help on price please
Does a TV appearance really add anything to the value? It's a soap that had the car (presumably in the background for the most part), not something as iconic as the professionals or anything that really *featured* the cars. There's plenty of capri / professionals fans, but how many people really care about Eastenders and capris enough to want that extra bit of "history/pedigree"? Not trying to bash it or anything, but I just don't see that angle as a USP.

Re: help on price please
Right now we find out what it will make. I
I put it on both capri sites with no response except Dave's very nice comments, not surprised as the people on them already have great cars but thought I would try to let a fellow capri enthusiast the chance of a bargain.
Started listing last night at 99p with a reserve now less than 1 day later £8101 seems like it may make my estimate of 10k

Hi Mike,
Been keeping an eye on your ebay listing and its shooting up nicely
At £8500 as I write this and that would be the minimum I would want for it, although I personally wouldn't pay extra because of its T/V
appearence, it will make £10k easily I reckon......

I don't think that I would either. However, I would still take delight in telling people of it's TV stardom and would probably have a little sign in the window at showsandyd wrote:I personally wouldn't pay extra because of its T/V appearance

Hi Mike,
Personally, I would love to buy your car if I didn't have a Capri already. Good luck with the sale.
Out of curiosity, did you buy the car after it's starring role in EastEnders, or was it something that was organised during your ownership?
Andrew.

Just looked at this on eBay. Ooh, the irony!
Re: help on price please
Good luck with the sale Mike, it looks a great car and is well worth in excess of £10k IMO. And great to hear that you will be replacing it with another Capri

It used to belong to a laserpage legend's misses Lyn, The story go's a TV car supplier contacted Newbury and Thatcham capri club asking if they could supply a capri to hire for EastEnders and they liked the look of A335 so hired it from lyn, move on about 5 years I was around at chris e boy (parts guru) and found out Lyn was selling the car so I bought it from her.

Hi Mike,
Interesting, so that's how the car got the call to be on TV!
It's a great thing for your car to have been involved in, and can't do anything but help the sale.
Andrew.

Re: help on price please
well I think the eastender connection has helped as I was going to put it on auction with H&H the house that sold the professional capri for a record price of £55k, they did not think it would make it worth more than one that had not been on EastEnders so put a value based on similar cars they have sold recently of £4-6k so as of this time it is now at £9100 well above the top value, and I myself valued it at between £5- 8 and £10 being tops for a car like mine, now one thing I was not excepting was how many views it would attract,t as of now it is had 21952 and 683 watchers, now I know watchers mean nothing but the amount of views is staggering.
