Gear lever becomes very stubborn when hot
In spring i bought a new gear lever pivot ball from Burton for my Mk2 3.0 Ghia , and it seems to do alright until the engine and gearbox warm up , the gear lever becomes very stubborn , i am aware the pivot ball is probably a reproduction , what can i do?

Have you confirmed that it is the pivot ball causing the issue? Maybe slackening the collar would confirm it?
Did the parts look the same when you swapped them & all the parts went back on the lever in the same order?
Also have you lubricated the bearing surfaces? I'm not sure what is specified but would imagine that something like moly grease (as used in cv joints) would be suitable.

Try slacking when hot to see if it frees up.
If it does then you may have a tolerance issue which would only really be possible to solve with machining.
It's not a hugely complex setup so should be fairly straightforward to find the fault.
