Hi guys I'm in the middle of restoring my Capri
I was cutting out the rear lower corner as it had some bad rust starting however when I pulled it off
I came across this foam stuff between the panel undernieth and the top panel just wanted to know if this was normal or Mabey a bad bodge ?
Cheers

Re: mystery foam
yep, it tried to catch fire on mine when I had the same place repaired.
Since I got a capri I've said "over the moon" a lot more than ever before.

Re: mystery foam
It's soundproofing to reduce road noise from the tyres. It also causes that rust you have due to water seeping between the foam & panelwork. Get rid of as much as you can.

Re: mystery foam
It is self extinguishing, but would still remove what you can. and if welding have an extinguisher to hand.
