Unsurprisingly, the pad of sound deadening foam around the gearstick basically disintegrated when I took the box out. Any ideas where to buy suitable foam to make a replacement? Not convinced it needs to be anything all singing, all dancing? Any recommended brand? Does it need to be fire retardant (the box kicks out a bit of heat)?
Also, any ideas where to get slim/flat adhesive backing for mounting grill badge? Mine had been refitted with adhesive foam type pads that made the badge stand a few millimetres proud of the grill. You could see the bumper the gap was that wide, and there were white foam bits on show. It looked unsightly.
Cheers

I used trim tape similar to this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Super-S ... 3a707abf1f
It's only 0.8mm thick, and is black in colour, so won't be seen once fitted.
Lightly heat the tape and the object you're sticking it to with a hairdryer prior to applying, and ensure the surface is clean for the best results.

Mike,
Thinking about it, you may be able to source some suitable density foam from your local upholsterers. They will probably give it away for nothing, as you only need a small offcut. Also, being foam from chairs etc. it will be fire retardant. As ever, no harm in asking.

Thanks as ever Andrew. Caprigear had advised me but I forgot what he suggested. I now recall he suggested foam. Will try that adhesive.
Cheers,
Mike

Silicone gasket sealer is real good for sticking stuff like that on as it fills uneven surfaces ,sticks to anything, is available in many colours , and can be easily got off with a cheese cutter sort of thing
