My 1981GL is finished, according to the V-form, in Crystal Green, a pale metallic green.
As far as I know, this is the original colour.
It may have been mis-named on the v-form, but this is unlikely.
I am trying to find a touch-up spray can, but cannot locate this colour by name.
One make has dozens of green sprays, all helpfully labelled simply "green" with a their own code no. for the shade. Their booklet does not list a Crystal Green.
Hal Fred's are no help. They ask for the reg.no. then shrug their shoulders and say "Not on the computer...".
Any help would be welcome!

Re: Crystal green finish
Hi,
A specialist automotive paint supplier should be able to mix you the correct paint from the paint code on the VIN. There may also be a sticker with the paint code under the wooden boot floor on the left hand side
As you probably know, there are various shades of Crystal Green, so make sure you get the correct one for your car (6, N, XSC1462 to name a few).
Try these Ebay sellers if you don't get any luck locally.

Good luck,
Andrew.

Re: Crystal green finish
The VIN plate box marked "paint" reads 6 1 [that might be an "I"].
Does this make sense?
There is no label under the boot floor.

That'll probably be this one that you will need.

Re: Crystal green finish
Hi,
I've ordered paint from this supplier and can confirm the colour match is good. Bear in mind, however, that you'll never achieve a perfect match with fresh paint from an aerosol onto thirty year old faded paint. Whether it's noticeable or not depends on which part of the car you are spraying. If it's in a really conspicuous place, perhaps the repair is best left to a body shop with all the proper equipment. Just thought I'd mention it in case you weren't aware!
All the best,
Andrew.

Re: Crystal green finish
Thank you for the reminder, Andrew. The whole car was refinished, in original colour , just a couple of years ago, so I should be ok.

Hi,
Yes, it sounds as though you should be OK with that. I just thought I would mention it, just in case.
Good luck with the repair.
Andrew.
