Weichers Strut Brace doesnt fit

Post by Burtr »

I went to www.motorsportworld.co.uk and bought a Capri 2.8i aluminium front strut brace. Tried fitting it but it fouls the accelerator linkage. Any ideas?

Do not panic. This is easily sorted.

If you find on Facebook pinto page you should get a complete running 2 litre for 250 quid. Fit that and you'll have a power upgrade at the same time.

Sorted perry.....

Did they defo send you the right one? I just went direct to http://www.wiechers-sport.de and bought straight from them, they were very helpful and cheaper even with shipping, I was looking for one for my Mk1 but could find no one with one confirmed to fit it, the one for the MK2/MK3 that they made fit straight on, turned out at the time that they had none of the steel ones left so they gave me an ugrade of the larger diametre polished aluminium one at no extra cost.

Hahaha. Terra Kotta. Nice. Trouble is my 2.8 is running 347bhp on modified swaymar heads and manifolds, with re-engineered inner piston bores, mehle pistons, road race cam and twin carbs, custom prop, mustang rear axle and quaife gearbox. So i don't really need a 110bhp pinto engine thanks, but if you think the pinto is powerful then I suggest you buy it. :D

Thanks Toe Cutter. I'll email them in the morning. The invoice and sticker says it's for a capri 2.8i

Awesome, somewhere that sells strut braces! Now, anyone know which would work best to clear bike carbs on a pinto? I guess just the one that's straightest and highest.

347bhp from a NA 2.8! Wow, I didn't even know that was possible!

That's answered your own question then.
Carbs, not injection plenum
Try getting one for a 3 litre

It isn't. My 2.8i is completely standard. The sarcasm was for Terra Kottas benefit

Ithankyou :D 347bhp can be achieved with all of the above, but you're more likely to find Elvis Presley shopping in Asda than come across a pair of up for sale swaymar heads for a cologne 2.8. Anyway.... Does anyone know the make/ model number of the standard capri 2.8 alternator? I've taken my broken one off and it's been painted and thus has no numbers on it...but it does have twin pulleys. All the ones i'm comming across seem to be small and all have only one pulley. Ta

Oh Burt,
You had us going there. However, as it's an injection it still goes as well as it looks!

^ This!

So wait, it's not the triple carbs causing the problem? That was just part of the troll?
