Re: Chrome paint?
There's no such thing as spray on chrome.
On anything! Of only it was that simple.
It's glorified silver paint and it looks shit.
Get your head under the bonnet and start getting into tuning instead of poncing about with a load of old shit.

Re: Chrome paint?
Yes you can and it looks like brushed aluminium. You should look up DIY electroplating.
Re: Chrome paint?
i no you can get it cuz i have seen it and its looks quite decent on metals just wonderd if it would look good on plastics or just peel off.Hot_Protein wrote:Yes you can and it looks like brushed aluminium. You should look up DIY electroplating.

Re: Chrome paint?
my car starts easy, gets to the speed limit without a problem and i can get over 100mph out of her. she is fine thank you. all that needs doing now is the gearbox changing over and a sportex exhaust fitted.Terra-Kotta wrote:There's no such thing as spray on chrome.

Personally Chris, I think that, without doubt, I would leave the mechanics just as they are.80s kid wrote:

Re: Chrome paint?
I tried it one time and it looked crap. You can get chrome effect vinyl wrap that appears to look quite decent though
Re: Chrome paint?
That sounds a better option.-JC- wrote:I tried it one time and it looked crap. You can get chrome effect vinyl wrap that appears to look quite decent though

Re: Chrome paint?
Hi,
I haven't used chrome paint for years. There's a reason for that.....
I think maybe it depends on the size of the item you want to 'chrome'. If it's small, then you may be able to get away with silver or chrome paint. If it's bumper end caps or something similar I would advise trying another method.
Andrew.

I've quickly done some research on other sites and most people who have used chrome spray paint agree.-JC- wrote:I tried it one time and it looked crap.

£19 from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/MIRROR-CHROME-S ... B009KUIORC
Or different sizes available from this Ebay seller:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mirror-Chrome ... 2ecaf8f118
Not too expensive at all.

Oh, not much, then!80s kid wrote:Bumpers, doors handles, light surrounds etc. anything that's not the body paintwork tbh
Buy a small roll to see how easy it is to apply.

Re: Chrome paint?
Anything which is shiny, be it paint or chrome, has to be immaculately prepared and as smooth as glass, the tiniest imperfection & it will look sh1t. I really think you`ll struggle, especially with such as door handles with sharpish corners. Good luck anyway!
