Car wrapping?
Car wrapping?
Anyone had any experience with this?
I heard its cheaper than having it sprayed but looks as good.

Not had any experience personally, but more advanced designs are possible that would be a very expensive with a paintjob.
Also, if you get bored with your flames, or just want a change, the design can be undone.
Some of those expensive cars (Porsche, Ferrari etc) you see around with matt black paint are, in fact, just vinyl wraps.
Give one of your local places a call and see how much it costs. I'm just curious......
All the best,
Andrew.

I have emailed a couple of places but some by me just advertise for sign writing on vans. I'm gonna call up some paint shops tomoz to see if they also do this.

Oh, and forgot to add that on a partially wrapped car if you expose it to the sun for long periods the paint under the vinyl will fade at a different rate than the rest. Come removal time a respray will probably be in order.
I've just done some quick research online and a vinyl wrap costs around £1K, depending on the complexity of the design.

Hi,
Try these guys in Stoke:
http://www.matrixice.com/vehicle_wrapping.php
http://www.lwfcarwrapping.co.uk/
That's not far from you is it?
If it's cheaper to have two lots done I might give it a go!
All the best,
Andrew.

Re: Car wrapping?
Ill have the whole car done of course mate. Apart from the flame the rest will be black so all the orange will be covered.peers.dupp wrote:Oh, and forgot to add that on a partially wrapped car if you expose it to the sun for long periods the paint under the vinyl will fade at a different rate than the rest. 1k is more in my price range tbh. That will take a lot less saving for.

Re: Car wrapping?
Nope didn't say but I'll try and find out. Wouldn't think it's something for the novice. Our guy has been doing it professionally for a while now.

Re: Car wrapping?
You should change your name to modern-fad-kid. CD player, vinyl wrapping, you'll want esp, reversing sensors and a seat belt reminder buzzer soon.

Re: Car wrapping?
Im ok thanks. I hate all that stuff. When i had the car i thought i would want power steering but i love not having it. I love opening a door or something without it dinging at me.rich_jc wrote:You should change your name to modern-fad-kid. Vinyl wrapping may be new but a paint job aint. Im looking at the cheaper option.
I also need music in the car thats and essential.

Hi,rich_jc wrote:a seat belt reminder buzzer soon.
Off topic, but I hate those cars that have a buzzer for everything. Do I need to be told that I've got my lights on and I've taken the key out of the ignition? NO!
Andrew.
Re: Car wrapping?
My moms car is just one annoying bag of shite. It has no handbrake its a button and i dunno if the brakes on or not. It dings when you aint got a belt on, the doors open, the clutch isnt dipped when you start it.peers.dupp wrote:Hi,rich_jc wrote:a seat belt reminder buzzer soon.

When you stop and open the door it tells you what door is open... I know what doors open as I HAVE OPENED IT.
I hate technology sometimes.

I had to move one at work the other week and hated every one of the 20 seconds I was driving it!
Well actually it was 2 hours and 20 seconds after I worked out how to take the handbrake off!
