About £50 for a brand new pair with bushes, from the Capri Club. Cheaper if you're a member.

Cheers mate. I am a memeber but the delivery cost is to much on there imo.

Hi,
Eurocarparts sell them for £25 each on special order, and usually get parts in within 3-5 working days. There are branches everywhere, so no need to pay for delivery. A lot of parts can be bought locally and don't necessarily require specialist dealers.
The Ebay ones are only worth bidding on if you can get them for a decent price, unless you want the other bits as well. If it was me, I would also confirm with the seller before the end of the auction that the items have not been used. If he does confirm it, then they are worth bidding on. If the seller does not respond to your question, as a lot don't, they are not worth dealing with and look elsewhere. But that's just me.
I would also bin the rubber bushes and replace with poly bushes. Again, personal preference and an extra expense, although if you change the TCA again, you can take out the poly bushes and re-use them.
Hope this helps.
Andrew.

The shackles are well worth having as spares. They are so exposed, the nuts invariably seize & shear so definitely good to have a spare set.

Hi,
As Steve says, it's always useful to have a box full of spares for that unforeseen disaster. It saves the car being off the road while you're waiting for parts to arrive.
All the best,
Andrew.

Hi,
It does say that they are unused in the listing. Personally, I like to double check.

All the best,
Andrew.

No worries. As a comparison, at Tickover they are about £30 for just one side.

A lot of people do that, but it can make it a harsher ride. I intend to change mine, but I will keep the rubber bushes that they come with. The current rubber ones have lasted 30 years after all!

On last years mot paperwork the advisory was the wheel bearing and worn bushes. The bloke I bought it off said he changed the bearing but I don't take it as gospel.

Got some days left on those on eBay so ill keep watching the price then have a bid near the end time.

Only time I bought off tickover was some hoses they had on eBay.

I've bought a few things from them, mainly brand new stuff. Always been a good service.

It varies, but from memory, seems to be similar to CCI. I've just checked and for one TCA, from Tickover, it was a fiver.

:agree:
I've also used Tickover a few times and can confirm that the service is excellent.
As always postage costs are added at the basket stage, but if it's too much you aren't committed to buying at that stage.
All the best,
Andrew.

I did everything you said Glyn and you made my car... into... a monster. You'd be proud. Sorry about getting a type 9 back in it though lol.
Have you still got my old Italian holbay webers on it?

Just out of interest Eurocarparts have a `budget` site `carParts4less` , same layout, same address, same everything - even come with Eurocarparts labels, but often 20% cheaper. Plus free postage. Well worth looking at

http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/suspensi ... ion-joints

Sorry - link doesn`t go to specific parts but they`re £17.40 compared to £25 something/

I doff my cap to you, Sir!

Same part for under £18 on this site! Great stuff, thanks Steve!

All the best,
Andrew.

We got a catalytic converter from them, the price was about 1/3 less, identical part with euroCP label. Funny old world isn`t it?

Hi,
I've found a few prices for comparison (prices from carparts4less/ Capri Club/ Tickover) all prices in £ not including postage:

Manual steering rack (including surcharge): 49.19/84.00/99.60

Brake pads: 12.00/14.40/18.00

2.8 clutch kit: 80.99/126.00/138.00

2.8 Rotor arm: 3.36/29.40/7.80

Track rod end: 3.72/11.40/9.60

Total price: 149.26/265.20/273.00

Hmm. Makes you think, doesn't it?

All the best,
Andrew.

Edit: I think it would be fair to point out that we should continue to support the Capri specialist parts suppliers, because they can supply parts it would be impossible to find elsewhere.
