Okay, an update on my current situation.

New plugs in which are giving a really good spark. However, I believe theirs not enough fuel going to the injectors. See link attached:

This should link a photo of what fuel lines on the distribution meter head are flowing fuel.
Red - NO fuel when ignition is on/ engine is turned over.
Green - Fuel flowing when ignition is on/ engine is turned over.

Again I managed to start the engine for a grand total of 2 seconds before dying on me.. It has to be the fuel system.

Should I get a new fuel pump, fuel filter as a next step? Or is the metering head in need of a replacement? Or worst case, new injectors required?

Please help. Thanks.

Get a new fuel filter, start with the simplest of things. When your cracking off the union at the filter, you'll get a pressurised spray of fuel, so be careful. Might as well take the tank off and clean it out to be sure you're getting a good flow of fuel. If the pump is buzzing loudly it could be on its way out, in my experience they work fine and when broken they just completely stop, there's no in between, that's how mine packed in anyway. Get a filter first and try that.

Have you "tinkered" with the fuel adjustment screw? Sounds like its leaned itself right off, or the plunger in the metering head, has become stuck.

Take the hose off the top, crack off the nuts ontop of the metering head, get a mate to crank it over. When it's cranking, lift the flap up to see if you get fuel through.

If you do, put everthing back together, then you'll need to take a long 3mm allen key, put it down the adjuster hole, and turn it clockwise half a turn and try cranking, if no, another half turn etc..... Taking the allen key out each time.

Is the fuel pump actually running? Can you hear it when cranking?

Should be getting plenty of juice if the system is working properly - after you've cranked the car is there any residual pressure in the system - if you cracj the union on the injector off you should get a spray as the system depressurises. No sparay means no fuel which is either pump not running, faulty pump or gunked filter.

Basics first.

From what you describe in the pictures the car is trying to run on only the cold start system, the green arrows are the connections for the warm up regulator and cold start injector
If you have no fuel to the injector pipes then the metering unit plunger is seized. You may be lucky and be able to unseize it but I doubt it.
I have replacements in stock.
Reconditioned metering units are now available at around £400 +V.A.T.

This might be worth checking;

are the cold start and warm up reg fuel lines on the right way round on the metering head? they could have been swapped by mistake with each other in the past?

this happened to me when i stripped the engine bay. the 2 lines can be put on either connection and theres no labelling on any diagram (that ive seen) that notates which is which?

hope this helps
