Genuine Oil Filter

Post by 280Brooklands »

Thought this was worthy of asking the forum.

I was looking for a genuine oil filter for my 280, and so after looking over Ebay :ebay: I found one listed for the 2.8 Granada and Sierra 4x4 (2.8), assuming this to be the same I went to order but though it worth noting to the seller which is actually a ford dealer, my registration number. I got an email back saying that the correct oil filter for my 2.8 capri was this....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360673357677? ... 246wt_1091

Really??

I do not want to question without being certain, but I would be more inclined to think that the oil fiter for the 2.8 sierra and granada which is essentially the same engine would be the correct one, rather than this.....

Thoughts please!!

Cheers,

Stuart

To be honest I have used the same oil filter on all my vehicles without problems.

Just get the largest one you can for the car to aid filtration.

Used the same filter on a 1.6, 2.0, 3.0 capri and 2.8i granada and never had any clearance problems, pressure problems or running problems.

All the best mate

EFL90. Ford still sell them, though probably won't have one on the shelf. Buy yourself 2 or 3 at a time, they're cheap enough.

£8.95!!!

i use FRAM or MANN now. I change the oil every 12 or 18 mths. EFL 90 is no better.
