fuel system
Is it possible to get air in the fuel system? Can the fuel system on a 2.8i be bled? If so how?

Re: fuel system
If there is a leak or you run out of fuel then yes you can get air in the system.
The system should self prime when you turn the ignition on.
If you are having problems then check for leaks.

Re: fuel system
Air gets in when you disconnect something, but usually clears itself with a few cranks of the starter. You can also get air leaking into the system via a split or union not tightened up fully.
Far too many people have forgotten the joy of just going out to drive!

Re: fuel system
The 2.8 is a high pressure system, if air was present it`ll soon be forced out and you`ll get a misfire on start up for a very short period, such as when you change the metering head or injectors, I had the pleasure of changing mine for 6 units I was testing, all of them popped and farted at start up then were fine afterwards. Its unlikely air is getting sucked in, its high pressure so petrol will be pishing out instead.
