Hello all, I'm going to paint my rocker cover next week I have high heat enamel paint but I have heard mixed ideas about using primer or not. What do u think?

Don't bother with paint, get it powdercoated.

I have painted 2.0 and 3.0 rocker covers with normal primer and paint. Not had a problem yet.

Powdercoating will give a tougher finish though and look ace.

I painted both by stripping the old paint off as much as possible, cleaning with pre paint/degreaser, prime and then paint in colour of choice.

Always use primer as it helps the paint stick properly and allows it to last longer while still looking good.

Are you supposed to use primer with high temperature paint, as the primer isn't high temp obviously so that will be the weak point?
