Hi,
My son has recently bought a 1981 1600 Capri with a V6 engine fitted
After reading through posts on this forum I am assuming that the engine is the V6 Essex engine which should have a weber 38 DGAS carb fitted
The carb that is fitted has the name "PIERBURG NEUSS" on it and doesn't look right as the retaining nuts are only on by a thread or two
The engine runs ok with the carb on but won't idle, I p[lan to fit a weber 38 DGAS carb but am not sure if I will need a diferent inlet manifold etc
I have attached some photos, any help appreciated
Cheers .. Chris

Re: PIERBURG NEUSS carb on a Capri V6
DGAS should bolt straight on as that's a std 3 ltr manifold. The base of that carb is about double the thickness of the weber so fitting the dgas with be fine with plenty thread to secure it.
