Screws info required

Post by Burtr »

When i eventually put my car back together, i don't want to put the old rusty screws back on and don't want to keep wasting valuable time going to & from B&Q getting screws. Has anyone got the names/sizes of the screws most popular with the Capri that i can just go out and get..ie. Screws for the radiator grill, fuel filter screws, dashboard screws, washer bottle screws...Ta If anoynes got a list...bolts as well would be good if poss.

Have a shufty under 'Capri' on ebay Burt, there's normally quite a few sets of screws and bolts to replace the standard rusty items. A complete set of galvanised bolts for sump, ancilliaries etc for a pinto is around £20 but I'm sure there must be 2.8 sets as well.

I think I might do this too, since most of mine is also in bits!
I'm the one who leaves all those shoes in the carriageway.

hi
go on to ebay
look up jez1964
he does loads of stainless nuts, bolts, washers etc............i have had several items from him,his prices are very good.
i got a complete v6 essex bolt set for £40.(water pump, inlet, eng mounts, bellhousing etc).........which inc stainless washers etc. they are good quality.not the cheap shite u can get.
if u do order anything from him can u let him know that xsabbathx sent you....i might get some stuff cheaper then :)
Bigger is better, there is no replacement for displacement

I came across this a while ago and i deal with iron mongery at work so when i was quiet i put my knowledge towards sourcing these screws! To be sad the type you are after are Self tapper recess pan type AB black finish and you'll need to get a few difeerent sizes 10x 1/2" etc

Looking good, Jason. The shiny screws match the other blingy parts you have under the bonnet. Keep up the good work! :D

Andrew.

It's not just me then! There are a couple of sizes of self tapper which seem to be everywhere - I went down to Orbital and got a bag of 100 off them. Does look that bit better. At least I don't have, err, a screw loose!
