You got nowhere local? I was all ready for a trip up North with a cylinder block once, then found out about this little workshop a few miles from where I live. Do a local business search for automotive engineers in the yellow pages... apologies in advance if you've already gone down this route!

As far as I'm aware, lightening and balancing a flywheel is fairly specialised; I know that Burton do them & they are into low three figures.
I'd certainly make sure that any firm you find who says they can really can; show a genuine interest in seeing the equipment they use in the process to see how it differs from just normal lathe work. The last thing you want is some conman telling you (and charging you for) he's lightened & balanced when in fact you just get an over priced shiney looking skim.
If you do find a firm who really can (ask local motorsport people who they go to), then get a new clutch at the same time as I believe they can match & balance the whole package together. - and the crank come to think of it......but now we are getting into big money territory though! Still; if you have the cash and want your lump to be super smooth and responsive then go for it!

Yes Tom I had done a yellow pages sift and anyone I asked said they wouldn't/couldn't do it?!?
Basically what I need done is a 9 bolt cosworth flywheel turned down to a pinto size with the pinto ring gear put on and the clutch location roles rebored for a 215mm clutch, and balanced of course. My crank seems like it's been balanced by GGR (Graham Goode Racing) which is nice.
It's heavy enough but if I need to post it just to get it done right I will.
