Relaying the sound proofing on the floor of the 3.0 now after welding but could do with some guidance. Im looking for some good quality sound proofing but at a reasonable price, theres some thompsons stuff on ebay which seems reasonable but if its rubbish stuff then theres little point. Anyone used this thompsons stuff or anything else which they would recommend?

A most excellent question, when i first got my 3.0 it had been sitting for ages and all the footwells were filled with water so everything came out and i was lucky to source some of the original sound deadening mats ie the foam bonded to sheeps skin! at the moment ive got mr capri back to the floor, everythings been ripped out and ive just put some por 15 in places so im looking to do the same. obviously the expert for sound deadening is hans fritzl but he's busy at the moment! im a technical manager at a builders merchants and i deal with acoustics alot and theres a company called isomass who do a few products called isocheck impact mat and Isocheck Re-Mat. The impact mat is a 12mm tri-layer system good for 40dB! it comes in 1.2 X 0.6M rolls and cut be cut to the same sizes of your existing mats. I could get some of that for you if you wanted, but the question is you have a 3.0 why would you want sound insulation, i dont even have a radio in my capri i just listen to the sounds of a v6 as i drive along!
A fair point indeed, however i will settle for opening the window to hear that exquisite exhaust note. Something tells me with the tail pipes i have on it i will still be able to hear it anyway. How much is this stuff you can get and how much would i need to do the front and rear footwells?
